The growing availability of data coming from digital technologies and practices constitutes a new source for the discipline of design. To familiarize design students with data as a method of inquiry and a material for prototyping, this series of lectures aims to provide a multifaceted perspective on this matter by presenting the projects of academic and professional experts working in the field. ‘The matter of data in design’ is a series of lectures organized within the MA in Interaction Design at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI). Participation is open to external attendees and encouraged from other institutes and disciplines. Lectures are one-hour appointments (face-to-face or online), followed by questions and open discussion, organized during the lunch break (12:30-13:30) at the SUPSI library on the DACD campus in Mendrisio.
We are thrilled to announce Kim Albrecht as the first guest and lecturer of ‘the matter of data in design” serie, who will present from remote his latest work “Artificial Worldviews”.
