Folkwang University of the Arts
Since January 2025, I have held a lifetime professorship at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, Germany, located on the historic Zollverein World Heritage Site Campus. My work is situated within Faculty 4: Design (Gestaltung), specifically in the Department of Communication Design, where I teach and conduct research at the intersection of design and code. My primary focus lies in the field of Information Design, where I explore the aesthetics of data and investigate the complex relationship between the information society and design. Through experimental approaches, I aim to uncover new ways of visualizing, interpreting, and engaging with data, fostering a critical understanding of its role in contemporary culture.
